David Allan is an illustrator and artist with a style shaped by his love of classic illustrators from a century or more ago such as Arthur Rackham and Ivan Bilibin.

His picture books include Two Trickster Tales from Russia, Two Tales of Twins from Ancient Greece and Rome, and Two Tengu Tales from Japan. Other work includes illustrations for Jules Verne's Mikhail Strogoff.

His work is in private and public collections, and he has exhibited paintings in several solo and group shows.

He lives in the New England region of NSW.
